Košická 52 – A Touch of Green with I-ROPE® Greenery
The third-floor terrace of the existing building at Košická 52 has been transformed with an innovative solution that combines architectural aesthetics and sustainable design. At the heart of the project lies the 6 mm I-ROPE® Greenery stainless steel rope system, which ensures that climbing plants grow safely and flexibly while seamlessly integrating with the steel structure of the building.
The steel cable structure installed on the terrace is supported by both vertical and horizontal steel elements. The horizontal beams and I-ROPE® Greenery rope network create a 500x500 mm grid, providing attachment points for plants in both vertical and horizontal planes. This system allows plants to connect directly to the stainless steel ropes, with their weight and wind loads carefully calculated to ensure safe support.
Both aesthetic and technical criteria were prioritized in the design. The pergola section is covered with a canopy for most of the year, providing shade and enhancing the system’s durability. I-ROPE® Greenery maintains the visual lightness of the structure while bringing greenery into the urban environment, offering users a living space integrated with nature.
