Partizánska Lúka Footbridge – Where Nature Meets Accessibility / Slovakia
Situated within the verdant forest park of Bratislava, the newly constructed footbridge at Partizánska lúka serves as an elegantly designed connection between the city and one of its most cherished natural retreats. Designed to be fully accessible, it offers a safe and seamless route to the recreational area of Železná studnička, accommodating everyone - from families with strollers to people with reduced mobility.
Gently rising above the Vydrica River and weaving through tall, old trees, the bridge strikes a balance between practical use and quiet beauty. It’s light but strong, opening up fresh views of the forest around it while keeping a low, respectful profile that fits naturally into the landscape.
To ensure safety, longevity, and aesthetic harmony, approximately 160 m² of I-NET® stainless steel cable mesh (1.5 mm, 60×105 mm) was installed along the entire length of the railing. The cable mesh was mounted with diagonal tensioning to match the bridge’s gentle inclines and angled landings, complemented by 6 mm stainless steel edge cables and tension sets anchored to galvanized steel posts. The open mesh structure allows unobstructed views while providing reliable fall protection.
The I-NET® system reinforces the bridge’s clean and minimalistic design, offering both visual transparency and tactile security. Its corrosion-resistant surface ensures low maintenance and resilience against the elements - ideal for year-round use in a public forest environment.
